There is a great source for Austrian facing colours (eg Loki's table for Vallejo paints). But cavalry and artillery facings are typically described as "dark red", "light blue" etc. I know that colours would vary but do we know if there are infantry reds and blues that the other arms' facings equate to?

Cheers,
John

Going by comparisons and a study of illustrations, for the red I would go with Vallejo Flat Red 031 and Deep Sky Blue 844. I think they are the closest matches.

Thanks. I know it isn't a perfect science. So they equate to "Sky Blue" and "Red" in the infantry facings as interpreted by "Loki". So I'm thinking maybe the cavalry "Bright Red" (Osprey's table for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Chevaux Legers) I should use Vallejo's 026 scarlet.

Cheers,
John

A fair decision. With small figures, a slightly 'brighter' choice does tend to pay off.

I have a vintage schematic of Austrian colors, but it is in a file I am not able to copy here. If anyone can figure a way I a happy to share it, or I can attach to an email.

I found this blog from Iannick Martin who has released a chart from result of a joint effort by Dave Hollins and Terry Webb. link
It has extensively converted all Austrian Colours into vallejo equivalents

This one does something similar:

There are hardly any differences (Orange – Loki used a mix, Hollins and Webb used a fantasy gold yellow, Rose, Old Rose vs Rose. He also has the mixes to do the other ones that don't have an 'off the shelf' colour. Very useful for the infantry facings.

Cheers,
John
