An updated blog entry on the National Civil War Centre. In the past I would have said "worth a visit if you are passing, but not worth it otherwise". However, there's a new exhibition on with lots of Black Tom's uniform items. So if the ECW floats your boat, it is now very definitely worth travelling to. link |

The National Civil War Centre is holding it's (now annual) Pikes and Plunder weekend with the English Civil War Society this Sunday and Monday (5th and 6th May). Soldiers drilling in the marketplace, living history camps at the castle and the Queen's Sconce, plus a battle at the Sconce in the afternoon. All free to attend. And, if you haven't already visited the NCWC , it will be open too. If you haven't been to Newark before download the NCWC trail app before you go. |
