Our club ran a 6-player Wilderness scenario, playing out both days of the 1864 battle with pre-battle map movement, written communication, and fog of war. It led to a very confused, swirling melee and some great moments. Photos and a brief AAR available here!

Now that the way to play a wargame!
and to create such situations!
Well done!
All my games now have the upper level element and brings some exciting situations, at least from the point of view of the GM and perhaps not so for some of the player commanders ;-))

pretty cool nice pics and narrative.
The hidden movement aspect is a nice touch.

I really like your technique on doing the corn fields.

Thanks all. Any time we can introduce some map-based hidden movement I find it makes every game better. Keeps the players off-balance and allows them to flounder around a bit in the dark. It's hard to create good fog of war in a tabletop game, so you have to do whatever you can as the GM.

And I'm glad you found the cornfields useful Dr.X!

Fascinating. I'm building armies for your Vicksburg campaign and enjoying your AAR much. Please keep ‘em coming.

I love these Battle reports! Nice looking games. thumbs up Need to finish my forests and make some smaller roads. I have 1200 10mm figs painted up and ready to do battle!

Thanks.
