I have a lot of Cossacks for 1812, done and to do. But They don't look like cossacks in many ways. In 15-18mm. Manufacturers used cavalry dollies, modified etc. plenty of variants if mixing up and allowing for some sizes variants. But: link First discovered there was something in a film about civil war, Hungarians not being fooled by Cossacks disguised riding in. " they ride the cossack way". Mine don't.
And many swoeds are wrong and carried the wrong way. Attention to detail, just as important as doing the right helmet for carabiniers no? Of course if you redo your cossacks, I will cry having to redo the host. |

I think the AB Cossacks are created from dollies entirely different from the regular cavalry, and when they are mounted on the AB Cossack ponies they look very characteristic. They are expensive but in my personal view are in a totally different league than any other 15/18mm figures. link |

In my quest to have the 1st Western Army there are 14 Cossack regiments, I have 7 counting 1 stand in and so by rights need 7 more. ( the Tartar Uhlans have been moved out of the main battle line) |

Ab are nice but too big to go with others, including other cavalry. Sort of. And in that case it is very frustrating not to have all those Old Glory, Blue Moon, and Campaign games variants. ( but you need AB magnificent horses to remount some and add variety.). I guess I am pushing details a bit too far for 15 mm. |

So I am going to need to find a source for Cossacks and AB are a bit oversized. |

I mixed all but Ab though I used his officer as brigadier several times with mods. Ab troopers ened ip as skirmishers and infiltrators. On separate stands. The other 3 companies can be mounted on ab horses and all horses can be mixed up. I also have a few 17 th century guys in the opolchenie mix. All in all that is plenty of variants, of the tired sitting cossack. Don't think you will ever see many more, done better elsewhere. Maybe Boki in 2023? Too late for me. Kalmik can be done with his krakus more or less. |

Let me add to complaints. The Cossacks used the "lava attack". They would move towards an enemy cavalry unit with two wings and a withheld center. If countercharged they would move away and let the charge dissipate. Then they would return and try to pick off small groups or individuals that were separated before the enemy could rally and reform. See link |

You cannot push details too far. (By definition…you are right, you are wrong, or you are basing your views without any evidence ….funny enough, does not mean the first two do not apply….think about this folk…………..SERIOUSLY) You might be right You might be wrong We need input from the experts here….and I do hope without anyone being insulted! It is called quantum uncertainty… Every possibly outcome is equally likely to happen and….. This is weird….. The most unlikely outcome, unless totally impossible (I like that bit) will happen, in a series of infinive parallel universes….and an infinitive number of times. That is …it is inevitable…..repeated an infinitive number of times. Except France beat Croatia more than the reverse. in The World Cup Final, a few minutes ago (weep) |
