There might be something about blue great coats only for artillery and garde and marine.

Dave Jackson11 Jul 2018 4:55 a.m. PST

Yes, generally blue greatcoats were reserved for/issued to Guard

Thank you for clarifying!
Sorry, but officers are often depicted in blue greatcoats.
Is it wrong?

I say Alex is correct. Trusting the prints by Rousselot it depicts both line and light infantry officers in Blue greatcoats as well as officers with blue greatcoat-rolls.

Lovely looking battalion! The variance in coat colors and shako covers and the wonderfull highlighting makes these figures really stand out! Impressive!

Thank you very much for your help, Dr Jeckyll.
I'm glad that everything was clarified. It would be strange if the brothers Perry and Foundry were wrong.
And thanks for the praise of my work. I myself really liked the result. Usually detachments in greatcoats look boring.

Then of course, personal items they might be, or looted etc. hardly an officer would get a problem with it. Maybe a remark from a Guard one. Then they can be any shade of bleuish grey.
