I'm always on the look out for 54mm plastic AWI figures and related items that would be useful. Although AIP sets seem to be the most widely available, I have found a few others, some no doubt already familiar to you, for gaming the AWI. Please check out my blog at derresinkavalier.blogspot.com.

Thanks.

I have found that the original ACTA British Infantry set is very hard to get hold of…

Great info.
I always liked the Marx reissued figures too.

Very useful. Thanks! Curious what you use to base your painted figures. Are they metal washers?

The problem with plastic figures is their lack of weight, causing them to tip over at the most inopportune times. I mount them on 1 1/4 inch fender washers (which sometime necessitates the trimming of the plastic base). They are secured with medium thick CA. I find that buying the washers online in 500-unit lots is cheap. Another advantage is that the movement trays illustrated on one of my blog posts, are lined with magnetic sheets that you can get at any office supply store. The magnetized sheet is more than adequate for keeping the lads upright both on the table and in transit.

Just posted some photos of some AIP Cavalry conversions using the basic AIP American Revolution cavalry set. Please check them out at Der Resin Kavalier blog, address above.
Thanks for looking.
