I made the same mistake on this forum years ago. I thought Light Infantry only had hornists. Light companies of line regts did. Light Infantry Regts however had drummers, just like Line Regts. No-one ever said it was easy! Funny how good French Light Regts can look when their outfit should be so boring frankly. It is all to do with bringing out the vibrant blue shown here. |

Oh yeah. The uniform of the French army it is difficult to understand! I agree with you, the light infantry uniform is good when the blue is pretty bright. Although the reenactors look spectacular in their dark blue uniforms. But on the table the "right" color looks like black. Thank you, deadhead! |
