The annual gathering for the venerable association of history buffs who like playing with miniatures takes place this year at Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, UK, on the 24-25 November 2018.

The hotel is a pleasant Tudor building in equally pleasant surroundings:

The location is right in the middle of southern England, just down the road so to speak (a bit further if you come from Yorkshire, Northumberland or Scotland):

As a reminder, the Society of Ancients specialises in historical military research as applicable to pre-gunpowder wargaming, and then promotes rulesets that implement its research (and even rulesets that don't). This year's conference will include a talk by Duncan Head, author of the legendary Armies of the Macedonian and Punic Wars and many other books. Besides talks, there will be a number of miniatures games for the period from cavemen to 1500. It's guaranteed to be fun.

The cost for the weekend is £189.00 GBP, which includes the two full days at the Conference, buffet lunch both days, the Conference Dinner on the Saturday evening, bed and breakfast Saturday night, and teas and coffees, fresh fruit, biscuits and cakes etc throughout the days.

I would say right in the middle of the Midlands :)

I really ought to go – it is pretty close for me.
