Does anybody know how the names on British Napoleonic Warships Was written. Example the brig " Tickler " captured by Danish gunboats. Is it HMS TICKLER, THE TICKLER or just TICKLER.

Google "ship of the line stern" and look at Google images for examples. You will see some that have HMS, but those are models and in error.
