V&V Miniatures is selling a unit of eight Byzantine archers, called the toxotai, in 28mm for Saga.

Very nice but not cheap.

I agree, they look nice but the price puts them out of most people's reach.

Makes a person wonder if it really costs them that much or if they price is merely how much they want.

Any good business realizes that volume sales add up and lower profit margins equal higher profits with more sales (ie Costco, Walmart, etc!).

nice sculpting but agree on the pricing, a bit steep for your average army……

Even that… glad you like them my friends! (smile)

VV makes resin miniatures of the same casting quality as eg. Hasslefree or Vinnie, and better then Forgeworld (from my experience, at least). The sculpting and authenticity is usually first class too.

For what you get the price is imho actually on the lower side. You certainly do not get higher quality for less, and whatever is cheaper shows. That, again, is just from my own experience with VV and dozens of other manufacturers. I have their sets on autobuy for any period I am interested in.

The figures are undoubtedly nice. But, with all due respect, they are almost twice as expensive as Crusader figures, but they are not twice as good. It's the concept of diminished returns. You may have them on autobuy, but I doubt you are filling up full armies this way. It's in the eye of the beholder so I'll agree with the others on this thread.
