Hi all If I want to depict the "Polish Horse" under Sergei Nikolaievich Lanskoi at the battle of Heilsberg 1807, can I use the Murawski Miniatures "Duchy of Warsaw" Uhlans? Thanks and cheers, Peter |

Mmmm…you could, but the Russian Uhlans didn't use the sheepskin. link |

Jeff is quite correct; you need to bear in mind that the 1807 'Polish Horse' was the forerunner of the 'Polish Uhlans' (in Russian service). Perhaps some other uniform plates of the unit will help:

Jeff, thanks a lot – this would be great. I am still wondering which miniatures I shall use for 1807. I would have loved to use the Murawski ones, I like the Paul Hicks sculpting style, and his separate-right-arms options. Always grateful for ideas. Cheers, Peter |

Nothing new to report there--just as per Viskovatov, and the illustrations Greystreak provided. In checking though, it appears that the Polish, Lithuanian and Tartar Horse regiments were renamed Uhlans on Nov. 11 1807. So, it was the Polish Horse at Heilsberg. On the figures, I have a bunch of Murawski Poles, and like them quite a bit, but they're pretty different from their Russian counterparts. Up to you though. |

Thank you, Jeffr. I will wait for somebody to make "correct" Russian Uhlans then. |
