As a stopgap measure the navy is repurposing the LCS series of vessels. The plan is to fill the bow with 4 to 5 tons of depth charges and concrete over them. They will then all be renamed; The USS Campbelltown I, the USS Campbelltown II, etc. They will also be "armed" with heavy duty jumper cables to make sure they can reach the target. |
