Salutations, gentlepeople !

I'm painting up a 'presentation figure' – a single 28mm figure on a finished wooden 'plaque', about 3"x5". Wondering how to attach figure to base:

1 – lots of superglue

2 – carve hollow in bottom of base (Dremel cutting, and hole thru base, and:

2-A – drill hole up into figure's leg, use long thin self-tapping screw

2-B – drill small hole into figure's leg, superglue wire into leg, run wire thru plaque, bend over, superglue.

3 – drill 2 or 4 holes thru figure's base, matching holes in plaque, loop thin copper wire or poly/cotton thread thru and knot on bottom of plaque, put some molding paste to disguise the thread/wire

Thanks for whatever advice you can give me with this.

2-B or not 2-B.
Fig has no base I´d go for 2-B, if it´s got a base, then the area of the base would be sufficient enough to hold with just superglue.

I would expoxy it on to the base

I have used a ton of epoxy and hope for the best – seems to have worked for the ones I have done to date

I did a presentation figure for my Uncle of Chingachgook. I super glued the figure to the base and then terrained it. Are you looking to avoid a terrained base?

"1 – lots of superglue" (or epoxy)

No. Use a thin coat of Aleene's stretchable fabric glue. After it dries, it ain't ever coming off easily… ;-)
