"The Navajo "Code Talkers," while being the most famous, were not the only Native Americans that fought with distinction during WWII. Men from the Colville tribe, originating in the Pacific Northwest, saw active service with many of the most highly decorated units in the US Military.

Interesting one was killed Sept. 25 1945. Maybe by a holdout? Though westerners were killed in Vietnam around that time by mobs and a member of the OSS was killed on the 26th while searching for missing pilots.

And the Navajos weren't the only code talkers. The Hopi and I believe the Comanches (I know they provided code talkers during WWI) also provided code talkers.
