I gave in to temptation and bought one of the Helion & Company Paper Soldier books. The verdict…absolutely brilliant! I've written some more about it on my blog here…

Wait a minute, I've always had the impression that the required paper armies were included in the books. Am I wrong?

The books include originals you are allowed to copy. My ECW book has several units of each type, but you have to make photocopies to get teh number of troops you want.

That's right…the books contain a page for each troop type and are pretty comprehensive. You can then copy and print as many as you want.

Stephen Huckaby from Raven Banner Games and the Lone Star Historical Miniatures (LSHM) club ran a Paper Soldier game at MillenniumCon in Texas last November. It was a really impressive game. The players had a fun time and the game looked great.

Highly recommended.
