"I was traveling to Iraq for an assignment and one day I went to the frontlines and literally ran into an American guy and I was confused. He wasn't wearing typical U.S camouflage clothing, he just had an AK-47 and said he was volunteering," filmmaker Sebastiano Tomada told Fox News. There's quite a lot of internationals in the Syrian Democratic Forces, so I am not surprised that there's internationals in Iraq too.

I guess Tomada hasn't been keeping up with the news these last 4 or 5 years. There are lots of volunteers from many Western countries out there, specially among the Kurds.

If he does such poor research about the areas he travels into, I wouldn't trust one bit any of his reports and depictions. That's just plain incompetent and irresponsible.

Reading the article, sounds like Tomada spent several years making the documentary. While some of his observations seem a little obvious, at least his observations appear accurate.
