Thought this would be worth telling people about. At the weekend I visited the Stowe Maries Great War Aerodrome Museum in Essex. If you live in the UK this is well worth the visit (indeed if you're not from the UK but come here on holiday this is worth the diversion for a day out), especially if you have a particular interest in WWI Military Aviation.

The site also has a wide range of original buildings, many of which have now been restored. The fact that the site wasn't reused in WWII means it has largely remained untouched for nearly 100 years.

There are several exhibitions in the buildings and I think there are plans to restore more buildings as funds become available.

80% of the listed war dead died in flying accidents!
I like the Addition of the cat on the Pilotīs bed.
The rifles in the Display case…the one on the left a Lee Enfiled (?) but the one on the right..A Mauser?
