Can I just say that after an absence of a few years due to children. I made a return visit to Phalanx. The St Helens Show is a friendly and welcoming event . My seven year old boy declared his first show as "awesome".
We Avenged the Thunderchild twice and raced across no mans land. He loved being able to get involved with very little knowledge of rules and history. His autism was no issue as our inclusive hobby just said hi and laughed along with him.
As we drove home afterwards, him dreaming of building a Pre-dreadnought fleet and me thinking what I could have bought. A warm fuzzy glow came over us both.
Thank you to the organisers and the team that ran the show. Great day.

Can't believe they scheduled it against the World Cup and Rugby Union internationals. Stopped me making the drive.

Recorded them. In fairness FIFA know when Phalanx is on…..so maybe point the finger there.
