As the title succinctly puts it… There is no 'list' that I can find in the relevant "Hail Caesar!" armies supplement… I am using the Canaanite list… So, was wondering what 'list' other players use for their Hyksos? Thanks in advance for the thoughts!! |

Well, according to this article: link Just use the Chinese Xia Dynasty list – they and the Hyksos are reported to be one and the same. |

Depends whether you want Hyksos invaders, or Hyksos overlords of northern Egypt. |

Yes, sorry, should have specified the "invasion" period… I subscribe (more or less) to the notion that in the "ruling" period in the Nile Delta and "Lower Nile Valley," what I will loosely call "northern grandees" sided with the "invaders" and contributed detachments of their own "retainers" and "local militias" to the Hyksos Pharaoh's "army." Thus, much of the Hyksos' forces, aside perhaps from the chariotry, and maybe "elite" infantry, would actually be Egyptian; little-different if at all from the forces of the "kings" who ruled "up river." Ref. the alleged "migration to China," I have the updated pdf of the HC "Biblical & Ancient" army lists, and confess I cannot find the "Chinese Xia Dynasty list!" Wish I could! In any case, I credit the notion in that Foreign Policy piece even less than the idea that the "Exodus" story in the Torah is actually the "retreat" of the Hyksos from Egypt… Still, might make an interesting Hollywood movie -- they're in to all that sort of make-believe… |

I would suggest that the early Hyksos of the invasion period can be based on the Amorite Kingdoms list with only a small contingent of chariots at the time. After this, and on incorporation into Egypt, the Hyksos of the 15th and 16th Dynasties would be based on the early NKE list |

Come In Nighthawk Have you read Pauline Gedge's 'Hippopotamus Marsh' trilogy? All novels, but they are a good read, and cover the uprising in the south, up to and including the defeat and expulsion of the Hyksos. Her other books are good too. |
