Years ago, I remember an absolutely HUGE range of figures depicting an Italian soccer game set in Renaissance…. Milan?
It had all the players, of both sides, crowd figures, entertainers, soldiers, etc.

I was never all that interested in it, but I was curious.
Who made it?
Were the figures any good?
Did anyone here ever buy any or paint them up?

I'm pretty sure they were made by an Italian company that also produced standard wargaming figures.
I think they made Etruscan figures, a Gendarmes "kit" with many parts to mix and match, etc.

Strangely looking around the site that the link in the thread on poultry led to this:

Are you just trying to rub in the fact that Italy didn't make it to the World Cup? Oops, that's right, the USA didn't make it either.

No. I'm not. I'm indifferent to soccer.
However, the referee uniform is quite interesting.

Although news of the World Cup did spark memories of that range.
Today, it would be a perfect example of a failed Kickstarter campaign. grin

I was joking!
