His automated office phone greeting says that the office sees anyone "from toddlers to centurions"!!!

I know they meant something else. At first it sounded like she was about to read Centaurians* (which would require considerable knowledge in exobiology). So I had to call a couple of times, and raise up the volume quite a bit, to make sure that's what I was hearing.

But no, the female voice definitely says CENTURIONS!

QUESTION:
Do you think he means Roman Centurions* or Cylons??? So, do you think he treats reanimated (or immortal) ancient Romans, or do you think it's advanced sentient robots?

I've heard it said that doctors are basically glorified mechanics. Maybe this is proof!

* Yondu was a Centaurian, I think:

Maybe he's a tank mechanic by night…

I think the Romans

I don't believe the BattleStar Galactica ones have teeth

Wow, actual Roman centurions! The good news is he must be a really good doctor. Those guys must really be up there by now.

Vespasian2815 Jun 2018 12:59 p.m. PST

Should have been centenarians of course but I prefer centurions. Maybe they have members of a re-enactment group on their books, like the Ermine Street Guard?

WhiteJamesT: "he must be a really good doctor. Those guys must really be up there by now."

Ha, My thought exactly. He's an orthopedic surgeon, so maybe he has already rebuilt those Roman guys a few times by now.

Just think of the high level of service you are receiving!

"By your command" I'd vote for Cylons!

Who knows !?!? But I'm guessing he means old people 100 year old or older … old fart evil grin

I'd be very reluctant to use a medic who was still keeping Roman Centurions going. They're all out of warranty, the parts are out of production, and he has to be getting spares from somewhere.

I remember an Air Force officer observing that while he liked the results of the Confederate Air Force and Yesterday's Air Force, he didn't really like having their people too close to his own mechanics and parts bins.

Mobius15 Jun 2018 5:20 p.m. PST

Wouldn't most Roman Centurions get their medical at the Roman VA? Or get it from SPQR Healthcare? Just asking.

Asteroid X15 Jun 2018 6:02 p.m. PST

Did you ask?

zoneofcontrol15 Jun 2018 6:55 p.m. PST

Maybe he was thinking about older people and was aiming for "Denturians"?!? Because sometimes getting the correct info out of them about their symptoms is like "pulling teeth." And you know that getting the wrong information can really "gum" up the works.

Sloppypainter15 Jun 2018 9:01 p.m. PST

Glad I'm aTribune and don't go to a doctor who would see lowly Centurions!

ZOC: "Maybe he was thinking about older people and was aiming for ‘Denturians'?!?"

Well he's my spine surgeon, so I hope he's staying within his field and not venturing into dentistry.

Centenarian???

Cacique Caribe16 Jun 2018 4:48 a.m. PST

I'm sure that whoever first thought up the line clearly meant "centenarians". What the final script said is anybody's guess. But what the lady on the recording read was "centurions".

But, assuming they meant "centurions", what kind do you think? :)

I blame Autocorrect.

zoneofcontrol16 Jun 2018 11:33 a.m. PST

Does your doctor prescribe Caesar Salads to all his Centurion patients? I'd be surprised if he did because they'd be pretty old by now and have a hard time chewing.

Oh, crap! I'm back to that darn dentistry theme again!

Cacique Caribe16 Jun 2018 3:28 p.m. PST

ZOC

LOL. Do you have an irrational fear of dentists or something?

No, but I am constantly putting my foot in my mouth.

I'm voting for Romulan officers.
