"It seems to us that a lot of people would really like to see the second fleet in the core game having new and different designs to the other fleet. As it happens, we already have another fleet designed up and earmarked for the first of the big box fleet expansions – The Othorian Fleet, including all the "special" carriers, dreadnoughts etc, special rules, new scenarios, tokens and a set of 20 new faction specific combat cards. We were going to either drop this in as an optional buy later on in the campaign or save it for the first game expansion next year."

So am I to understand that the both-sides-identical models we've seen so far are just place-holders for the actual each-side-different models they are showing now? That would be a good thing. :) |

They intended to have both the red and green fleets use the same designs as it was a civil war background, but the feedback they got was people wanted different designs. So now the red fleet uses the original design but the green fleet gets new designs that were intended for the first supplement and new designs will be mad for that supplement. |
