That's a pretty good price for great medieval/dark ages combat system, plus the advanced rules and Wizard. |

Even after all these years they are one of the best skirmish/magic systems out there. Hopefully he won't fiddle with them too much… |

Too bad, I no longer trust Kickstarters, especially when I see no reason for one (everything has already been worked out and printed before). I'll sit this out. |

There actually are good reasons for this sort of Kickstarter. The gaming market is a lot different now than when these games first came out. Support from the Kickstarter does fund the quality and quantity of components that go in the game. The stretch goals on this, and other SJG campaigns, are not fake goals that would go into production anyway if the funds aren't raised. KS campaigns are the best and surest way of testing market reach and how many to print. The days of counting on gaming magazines like The Dragon and Space/Fantasy Gamer promoting products are long gone. The Kickstarter word-of-mouth system is the successful working marketing engine now. SJG has discovered through Ogre that KS is the primary sales force for their niche retro games. The fanatical fanbase and new enticees flock to the KS, which the company needs to fund the highest quality product they can get. Retail sales trickle away after that and can't be relied on. It is well worth researching particular companies and their history of successfully delivering on campaigns, or assessing the probability of new companies succeeding. SJG has a pretty good track record. I always add 6 months to any predicted delivery date from any campaign, no matter how good the track record. Production and delivery snafus can hit anybody, anytime. Campaigns that do come in on time are happy surprises. 6 months late is not unexpected. Over a year late becomes a concern. Sitting it out is still an option. I've done that with some campaigns. The recent 7TV Children of the Fields, I bought in with a small pledge to support them, but will buy more when it hits US stockists and I'm not getting hit so hard on the shipping. |

Still don't trust KS anymore and never will, I've been burned too many times. If it comes out eventually in retail I'll buy it, if not I'll happily live without it. |

Fair enough, KS is always a gamble. |

If it comes out eventually in retail I'll buy it, if not I'll happily live without it I agree with you. Once they have your money – too many manufacturers feel they're doing you a big favor by updating you. Heaven forbid they meet their timeline. Not for me! Kickstarter should have the option to refund a project once it is three months late |

Well said, MiniMo. Kickstarter should have the option to refund a project once it is three months late That would break the system. I have funded around forty by now, and most were late. Some very late. I lived. Only with one did I begin to suspect might take the money and run, but everyone got their stuff, and I was happy with mine. |

Unless SJG goes bankrupt Evil Stevie will deliver the goods – it may be months or years late but it will be delivered. He is too much of a perfectionist not to deliver. |

Very excited about the return of Fantasy Trip – such a great combat system! Will definitely be contributing to this Kickstarter :) |

Now they show signs of treating all gamers equally and not refusing to allow non US folk to buy in, I shall watch for this one with interest. |
