Which do you play the most? ACW miniature wargames or ACW boardgames (non-minis).

Used to be board games but its been miniatures for years. I would gladly do board games if I could find an opponent. Everyone wants to do miniatures. JR2, MLW and soon RF&F.

Vigilant13 Jun 2018 2:17 a.m. PST

Miniatures for everything. Haven't played board games on a regular basis since the 70s.

ACWBill13 Jun 2018 3:10 a.m. PST

Miniatures compose 90% of my ACW gaming.

LAP195413 Jun 2018 3:35 a.m. PST

Both: I usually have a boardgame set up (in a permanent location) while miniature games are played separately. Current: AH's Gettysburg '88.

Minis. I can't remember the last ACW boardgame I played, but I would be interested in a good solo boardgame.

Well, this is a miniatures-gaming site, after all.

'Civil War' strategy game for the PC passes many hours.
Can't beat a game with miniatures, looks great and good fun. Being retired Wargaming is a super hobby along with playing golf and tending the garden, life is good.

Ed Mohrmann Supporting Member of TMP14 Jun 2018 3:56 a.m. PST

mini's

Normal Guy Supporting Member of TMP14 Jun 2018 6:06 a.m. PST

Played AH board games in the 70s into the early 80s but minis ever since.

Hell, I never made it past the ‘60s Edition, now I find there were four or five later ones! It's a whole other World this board game thing!

steve186515 Jun 2018 9:03 a.m. PST

I play both. If I play a campaign then board games. If a single battle or on attack then I prefer Min. One new board game I was very interested was Longstreet Attacks as a board game, but after seeing it The game is TOO COMPLICATED. TOO BAD.
