Yahoo had a bit of a "hiccup" about a month ago, maybe two. At least for me. I stopped being able access groups I was moderator of. Today I tried to get in to approve somebody but it seems I am no longer a member. In fact I am only a member of a single group out of the 100+ that I used to belong to.

I am – or "was", I guess – the ListOwner of the LaceWars group. And I was [seemingly] the only active moderator on a couple of other groups that required approval for new members. So unless the other Mods become more active I guess those lists will wither and die.

Don't know what the exact cause of this problem is. Apparently Yahoo has a new owner?

The groups have been a mess and are so archaic I am surprised they work at all. I haven't had those problems in mine.

Someone over there seems to have been trying to wreck the Yahoo Groups for quite a while. Things like people being unable to remove their pictures, subscribe or unsubscribe. Makes me wonder if they are trying to drive the value down to make it an easier takeover target.

I had to give up trying to log onto groups I belonged to because no matter how I went about it nothing worked. I still get emails from Yahoo about my groups teasing me with what I am missing.

Yahoo was recently acquired by Verizon and AOL.

For some reason, whenever I try to access mine, I always have to log on fresh. It might be a change in the cookies though.

Most of the groups I was in have moved to Facebook. There is a way on the mobile app to only see the posts to your groups so you can avoid all the other stuff if you want.

Groups have always been hugely unprofitable for Yahoo and they have wanted to kill them off for some time now. At the moment I only check in on one….I used to follow dozens.

I am on quite a few groups. Our locale wargame club is quit active on it. We schedule games and generally discuss all things historical gaming in town for years. But recently we are unable to add photos our albums or create new ones.

My theory that has something to do with Yahoo selling off Flickr. Maybe part of deal to sell it involved Yahoo agreeing to not all photo posting in Yahoo any more. Non of the many Yahoo groups I belong to can post photos anymore.

I noticed some of my groups are back to allowing photo posting. But still can't delete an album.

Altfritz, I'm in the LaceWars group and haven't experienced any problems. Hope it straightens out quickly for you.
