Click on the images to enlarge them (these are large images)! Photos taken at Versailles between 1862 and 1868 (probably taken in 1862 or 1863). Many of these artillerymen were veterans of the Crimean War and/or the Franco-Austrian War (Italian Campaign of 1859). Photo taken between 1860 and 1870 (probably taken between 1860 and 1865): link These are not cuirassiers of the Imperial Guard. They are cuirassiers of the line. ------------------------------------------ Lieutenant of the 1st Regiment of Cuirassiers of the French Imperial Guard (photo taken between 1854 and 1860).
