No much discussion of this game – is no one playing? Seems a more interesting topic than stressing about women dominating Star Wars (which has 70 responses). (Reminds me a bit of Star Trek pilot where a women played #1 and gave orders to men – network exec frequeted out and demanded her removal (actor latter recast as a nurse) – male reaction to "authorative" women not changed much). Anyway have played few games – not overly impressed but the figures are nice (just picked up Rebel Fleet Troopers). TomT |

I know gamers who play. They love the figures, but hate the rules. They've substituted either Bolt Action or the old West End Games Star Wars rules and gotten a much better game in their opinion. |

In retrospect, I think the demand and hype for a Star Wars miniature game were overblown given the lukewarm reception of this release. And it's not that people are staying away from this because of gender politics or perceived reverse discrimination from SJW bigwigs at Lucasfilm Disney. Rather, there are other plausible reasons why people are not biting, such as: With just two factions, the game lacks the variability and replayability of other games such as 40K or Warmahordes; Simplistic/unimaginative rules that are nothing to write home about; While the minis are okay, many people were turned off by the fact that Legion figures are wholly incompatible with their collection of Imperial Assault minis. They see it as just another "shameless cash grab" by FFG and refuse to participate. So unless you're the most diehard SW fanboy, you may not feel compelled to buy the game. |

Loads of folks are playing around here and people are loving the figures. I've even been tempted though I can't add another genre without dropping one. Right I have two historical and fantasy. Duane |

"many people were turned off by the fact that Legion figures are wholly incompatible with their collection of Imperial Assault minis." Yeah, that was my main take. |

Very popular in my area. And getting bigger. |

Why should I play Legion when I have plenty of Imperial Assault I haven't played yet, which includes skirmish? I don't need yet another FFG money pit, which all their Star Wars games are. |

I've been playing it quite a bit. The major problem it currently has is the lack of options…which is being corrected as there are more and more forces for it. |

My son purchased the core set with the money he got for his 11th birthday a few weeks ago, and I've been helping him paint them. We played one game to get the feel of it- We like it! There's already been a tournament within an hour's drive of us, and it seems to be getting a lot of positives… And.. .FFG is definitely cranking out the models for it! |

Dezmond: we get it, you're oppressed :-) Having said that I agree with your criticism of the model scale in Legion. Beautiful models; but I'm not buying in either, for that reason. w. |

The war against poor oppressed white men? Wow like the war against Christmas its pretty obvious that White Men and Christmas are stomping the oppisition. But as a totally not oppressed white male, I agree that the figure scale screw was bad (esp to Imp Assault players), and likewise the rules are mediocre (but much better than 40K for instance). Still I had hoped that given X-Way and even Armada FFG might have been able to create a better game. Local store owner explained the money grab aspects (not enough dice, odd measuring sticks) as part of the price of buying big IP. Shows the great value of independent game designers creating generic systems – much better bang for your buck. Maintain some hope for it though mainly as an alternative to drab 40K game play and a much better background to boot. TomT |

As another only mildly repressed middle aged white man, I think it's an OK game. Better than 40K for sure. Locally, lots of people that I enjoy gaming with have bought into it. The films mostly suck, but Rogue One and Solo were pretty good. I find the ongoing nerd rage about diversification/Disneyification baffling and a little disturbing. We clearly need another world war or an alien invasion or something so people can get a little perspective. |
