I was looking for recommendations in 28mm for both troop types when my post got jacked.

Ive only seen Warlords that I can recall. I welcome any recommendations. Cheers.

I like the Aventine and Relic models for these troop types.

You would think that since it is popular and necessary troop type for quite a few armies that someone would have done a set in plastic or sell them as a unit. Having to buy three packs of infantry plus one of command to just field a unit makes adding several of these to your army an expensive proposition.

Aegis, I just got started in 28mm Ancients but I had the same thought. Certainly a plastic box that contained both types would be very useful, particularly at filling in as Imitation Romans.

Marcus, thank you. Do those 2 companies mix well?

I'd suggest looking at Gripping Beasts Polemarch range. I have both their Thureophoroi and Thorakitai and they are great models.

I have both Polemarch and Aventine. I used them in separate units and they match well.

I decided to give Gripping Beast a try. I really liked the Aventine pack but I didn't see a command pack to go with it.
