Didn't she become Tarzan's Jane?

I believe she was her own Jane, but Tarzan's wife, as of The Return of Tarzan, yes. Married by her father, an ordained Methodist minister.

I mention this because at one time there were librarians refusing to stock Tarzan books out of a belief Tarzan and Jane were living in sin. If they applied that principle to their novel purchases today, they could have a much bigger budget for military history.

that was because the movies lacked that fact

Indeed. And why should anyone--much less a librarian--get her facts about a book by reading the book, when she can just watch a movie? Or really save time by talking to someone else who watched the movie?

It's raining information, and most of the human race has forks.

Robert Piepenbrink, when I described her as 'Tarzan's Jane' I was simply using the expression as a convenient shorthand for 'the woman who entered into a relationship with Tarzan', rather than some other Jane Porter. I did not mean to imply that Tarzan had any proprietary rights over her, or thought that he did. If any female readers of my post were unintentionally offended, I humbly apologise.

I once worked in a school, the headmaster of which was also called Arthur. To avoid confusion, his wife (who was also the bursar) used to refer to him as 'my Arthur' to be clear she was not referring to me. Neither he, nor anyone else, misunderstood her meaning.

Perhaps this form of words is not common usage in the USA, or has fallen foul of modern political correctness?

Ah, Arthur, no offense was taken, but I can tell you're not a classic mystery fan. In an old Nero Wolfe mystery, someone asks Archie Goodwin "aren't you Nero Wolfe's Archie Goodwin?" to which Archie replies "no, I'm MY Archie Goodwin, but I work for Nero Wolfe."

I was also perhaps a bit off balance. I thought for a while for a comparison, but I don't know any husband and wife couple real or fictional, as famous and as often portrayed as Jane Porter and Tarzan of the Apes. ("Watson, John H. Watson--wasn't he the fellow who used to room with Holmes?")

I have the metal version of this miniature. It's pretty good, although I have yet to use it in a game.
