How frequently are your miniature wargames played in your kitchen?

I go through the kitchen to pull much of my gaming gear out of the utility room, does that count?

Many, many years ago, I played the AH Boardgame Kingmaker in my kitchen.

Does kitchen-adjacent dining area count?

As often as I can.

Never.

Sometimes I paint in it.

Never. Though sometimes we get stuck in the kitchen talking, eating and drinking when we should be at the table gaming.

Never. Dining area sometimes. Wasn't it basements last week? Is this a game of "Clue?" Are we going to do every room in the house until someone announces "it was Robert with 28's in the Game Room!"

Never, I have washed and painted figures in the kitchen. The Diningroom table is better suited for gaming.

As a youngster, living at home I remember playing AH's PAYDIRT at the kitchen table. One time my parent let me set up AH's Little Round Top or Devil's Den on the dining room table. Other than that it was to the basement or at a friend's house.

Washing resin in the sink is the closest I have come.

Many many years ago, probably while I was still a college student, I was house-sitting a very, very nice house, and it had a very large kitchen island with some kind of smooth black surface.

A friend visited, and we played Snapshot for hours on that black surface with 1/72 Airfix soldiers that we had made look a little more Far Future-ish (tm). We turned it into a big spaceship first, and then into some kind of underground complex. We improvised with things at hand to mark off walls and doors (toothpicks and disposable chopsticks) or to represent equipment (dark blue shot glasses were the jump drive, as I recall).

Snapshot is normally played on grid paper, but we just used inches instead of squares.

But in over 40 years of wargaming, that is the only time I've played in the kitchen.

I have participated in RPGs at the dining table.

Yes, fairly frequently, along with bedrooms, living rooms, studies, kitchens, attics, lawns, hallways over the years -all grist to the mill – never a bathroom or a basement though.

Every time I play at home, that's where the kitchen table is at.

Occasionally when the loft is unavailable… or I'm playing a boardgame…

Given that my kitchen is smaller than most gaming tables – never.

I wil play in any room, kitchen included. The loo is to small eve for DBA though! This is probably true of many poorer wargamers who do not have larger houses?

Never. Or only for some too short months before he was killed, with the cat, for possession of the tables. Flank marches, infiltrations etc.

Dining room is the table that gets the games

Once: played a 2e BattleSystem game on my kitchen table, with a friend. Special occasion, only time I played on such a small table with 25mm figures. Typically play on a 9' x 5', Ping Pong Table, in a dedicated game room. Cheers!

The kitchen is on a mezzanine level overlooking the wargames room. It allows overhead photographs of games.

Miniatures are not used in the kitchen.

The kitchen table is our gaming table. (It's also our only table, so…)

Always. It's the biggest room.
