One question: looks like you permanently attached that very nice palm tree near the edge of the baseboard. I'm wondering if that's the case or perhaps you just tacked it down with some temporary adhesive for the pics?

Fantastic work and very well laid out. The only issue is that the real Khartoum during the siege was surrounded by earthworks and not walled fortifications. I made a city in 15mm similar to Khartoum and used fortified walls, gates, towers, etc., because it looks great and is a lot more fun! The two volume set put out by TVAG called The Mahdist Wars Source Book has some illustrations/maps of the city as well as the forts on the Nile, which was sobering to my romanticized view of the siege.
