I will be running a 28mm Great Northern War Campaign at Historicon, 2018 using the final beta version of the Carnage and Glory Campaign System for the strategic portion of the campaign and the Marlburian tactical rules to resolve the tabletop battles over the course of the convention. More information, including the campaign map, is available at this link

which will take you to the Carnage and Glory website. Along the left column click on "Great Northern War Campaign" link, which provide you with a short description of the campaign so far and also includes a link to the campaign maps.
The campaign is centered in southwest Poland in 1706 and pits the combined forces of Russia and Saxony against Swedes and Poles. The Russian and Swedish CiC's have started the campaign, which will continue until the first major battle. That battle will be fought on Thursday at Historicon, 2018. After that game the results of the first battle will be returned into the campaign system and both CiC's will assess the strategic situation and resume the campaign leading to the next battle.
In total we expect to fight five separate campaign battles over the course of the Historicon weekend. Anyone interested in participating in the battles can sign up through the normal Historicon game registration system. Campaign activity will be focused in the Marietta Room, where we will have a wall map showing the strategic situation. The map will be updated as events unfold as a result of the tabletop games so players can follow the campaign's progress and see how their participation has impacted the campaign.
The website includes some information on the campaign system that is under development and information about the Carnage and Glory tactical systems. The campaign system is fully integrated into the tactical system. During the campaign phase units suffer from march attrition, weather, and lack of supplies. Sick and missing are assessed at the end of each march period and once strategic movement results in a tabletop battle the units show up for battle reflecting the ill effects of strategic consumption. During the course of the tactical battle units gain experience and confidence or can be shattered and demoralized. At the end of the battle these changes in morale and experience are reflected in the ratings assigned to the units as they continue the campaign.
As we get closer to Historicon I will post updates on the campaigns progress and some details about the first battle, to be fought on Thursday at the convention.
