With the release of the new Knights Codex GW has re-released Renegade.

A fantastic deal if you are starting a knight army.

The normal Knight is $157. USD In this you get two of them plus a $75 USD terrain piece for $195. USD

That is almost exactly half price and it doesn't count the fact that you also get a game included in the set.

I'm guessing that with this, one of the new knights Valiant and a set of the armigers you will have a very respectable Knight army.

I appreciate your ongoing updates of GW stuff. It doesn't really show up on any of my other feeds.

The game could have been really good, but suffered from one huge problem that could have been fixed easily.

Lion in the Stars03 Jun 2018 3:36 a.m. PST

What problem was that? (Aside from price)

Pictors Studio03 Jun 2018 8:14 a.m. PST

How on earth is the price a problem?

The Beast Rampant03 Jun 2018 11:10 a.m. PST

I agree- that's a good price.

Your basic Imperial or Renegade Knight model is $157 USD so two of them would be $315. USD The terrain model is $57 USD retail. So $372 USD if you bought all three separately. So yes this is a deal at about half the price. Now if you feel that all of GW's product is overpriced (and yes some of it is) then this thread is not for you.

That nobody has ever heard of the game? (This is the first time I've learned of it… ;-)

I really liked the Renegade game. The problem that a previous poster referred to could be this:

The way hits and damage are done uses a diagram of the knight with areas that can be damaged. There is only a diagram for the front facing because the game is designed for 2 players (only) and it is assumed that the knights continually turn to face each other throughout the battle. So if you tried to play multiplayer, you would need damage tables for side and rear shots, or some other way to do the hits.

I started to work on a mod for multiplayer but 8th edition came out and distracted me.

With all the above you'll get a 2000ish pts army but you do need some guard to score drop a knight grab 100 guards
