When I wrote this article last night,it struck me that it might make a good Early 20th Century scenarios for a wargame. This is an incident that actually happened to a family member, we figure between 1912 and 1915. And it has all the cool stuff: Chinese pirates, German colonial sailors, Norwegian merchant seamen and Chinese ports.

Basicaly, me wife's grandfather's ship was ambushed by Chinese pirates outside a German-run Chinese port. It's an interesting story. I might add that during World War I, he survived being on three ships that were torpedoed by the Germans. Tough old man!

great article .looks the Gunboat Jaguar..fought at Tsingtao in 1914.

It could be. It is one of the Panther class German gunboats.
