When I wrote this article last night,it struck me that it might make a good Early 20th Century scenarios for a wargame. This is an incident that actually happened to a family member, we figure between 1912 and 1915. And it has all the cool stuff: Chinese pirates, German colonial sailors, Norwegian merchant seamen and Chinese ports. Basicaly, me wife's grandfather's ship was ambushed by Chinese pirates outside a German-run Chinese port. It's an interesting story. I might add that during World War I, he survived being on three ships that were torpedoed by the Germans. Tough old man! Here is a link to the article link Enjoy! Thor |

It could be. It is one of the Panther class German gunboats. |
