Does anyone frequenting this group live local to the LHR, that can actually put eyes on the old bird? Especially the exterior, where at Cold Wars, parking spaces were curtailed with construction debris, equipment and storage pods. Given the higher attendance at H'con, and may more staying off site…parking spaces may be at a premium more than usual. Bonus, if anyone can put eye on the newly configured front of the property, especially the new entrance and the new elevator installation and report on progress. |

We were also wondering about this the other day… Inquiring minds want to know! :D |

Heck – as long as were asking – any updates on the old Continental? |

I just came back from a site visit there. There's still lots of construction materials around and will be up until the show. At that point they'll consolidate and remove as much as they can. The old front entrance of the hotel is fenced off and is heavily into construction of the new entrance and will be that way at Historicon. The handicapped ramp is still there and functional. Entrance will be through the Lampeter doors right there by where registration was and that were almost complete at Cold Wars. The new elevator will not be finished for Historicon. Joby |

Thanks for the update Joby, the only concern for me is the air con that needs to be fully operational in Lancaster in July. Especially in the dealer hall with the new windows if its not fully functional could be a sauna in there. |

Is the flea market going to be in the same place as it was for Cold Wars? |

the only concern for me is the air con that needs to be fully operational in Lancaster in July A million times this. The side rooms get to be damn near unbearable in the fall and winter, I cannot imagine in the summer. I guess I will have to bring my own fan as insurance. |

Mirosav, On another thread, Joby reported that, unfortunately, the flea market will once again be upstairs in the Showroom. He did say that they were working with the Host to try to get some improved lighting upstairs. |

How about the entrance to the tennis barn (dealer's area)? It was still torn up at Cold Wars. |
