I am about 98% sure that I am leaving the PRC and moving to South Dakota, later this summer.

While I am fully prepared to create a mancave for solo gaming, I am wondering if there were any gentlebeings inclined towards historical wargaming in South Dakota. I am quite sure I can find 40k and AoS players, but unsure of those who are into historial board and miniature gaming.

Any denizens of this website who happen to reside in S.D?

Out of curiosity, what part of SD we talking? I've driven across it many times, and it takes me all day to get from Mitchell to the Black Hills.

I know of a decent game-store in Fargo ND, if you'll be up in the Northeast, but not much in SD. Maybe "Who's Game House" is still in Rapid City?

Which part? Who's is a great store, been a few years since I've been there

Pretty much smack dab in the middle, betwixt and between the larger cities. About 2.5 to 3 hours from Rapid City.

If you're talking near Pierre or Chamberlain, I suggest learning to hunt pheasants as a passtime, haha. Not much in the middle except for farms, and probably more cows than people.

We used to hunt around the Chamberlain and Onida areas, before switching to Aberdeen. I think you will be limited to Sioux Falls or Rapid City for any organized gaming.

Good luck!

Justin,

I am moving to Madison, SD the week of July 1st. I took a job teaching cyber at DSU. I'll be about 45mns to both Brookings and Sioux Falls. Sounds like I'll be 2-3 hours from you. There is a pretty nice store in Brookings which I visited when I was out for my interview.

I am mainly historical all 28mm have both sides for Crusades, Hussites, Romans/Hails, Sucessors, FIW, Modern craziness, etc. I am about to sell my EVE armies – didn't think I find anyone interested in that out there. Drop me an email – full first name: first.last@dsu.edu

Just looked at your profile… Have 28mm Napolenic Russians but no French or other opponents. ALSO have large collections of Wow WW1 and use the system with 1/144 WW2. Love ACW -don't have any.

Rob,

I'll send you an email, soon. I've sold nearly all of my painted armies or traded them away, but when I get settled in S.D., I'll quickly paint up some replacements.

I've taken to Bob Cordrey's Portable Wargame, so my focus is split, but I do like large-table games, also.

Depending upon the dwelling I am assigned, I'll be turning it into a dedicated mancave, with more than one game table.

Look for my email within a day or two.

Well, some bad news. Who's Gaming in Rapid City is closing this summer. Currently everything is 25% off. Close out through the summer (end of August?). Who's Hobbies and Who's Toys are going strong

Rob,

My emails to you have bounced. I am guessing that -bert is the suffix to your first name. If not, let me know, please.
