Electric is great for quiet. Surprisingly, it's outstanding for acceleration (a Tesla sedan will make a mockery of a Corvette or Ferrari at the drag strip). It's lousy for range and speed of refueling.

Yeah, that'd be great fun on the beach, especially if it can recharge from a standard wall outlet.
