Howdy folks, Last weekend was the annual Cangames convention in Ottawa, while I've been a lot busier with stupid things like work (you know, that thing that allows AND interferes with our hobbies) I managed to get signed up and try out a Wargames Illustrated inspired trenchfight. The GM ran an excellent game, looked good, easy to grasp, really great feel. Anywho, here's the report. link Take care.

Very cool, Thanks for posting & now you've got me looking for that now 10 year old mag to purchase! You don't have any clue where I could get a copy of the mag or even, just that article, do you? Thanks again, Peter |

Thank you gents…Peter, I am in the same boat as you. Funny enough, as soon as I was done playing I checked a few vendors out to see if they had 235 in their old magazine collections…sadly no. The suggestion was made to get the WI Prime subscription for one month and download the article/issue from the Vault. I will probably have a download party next weekend, lol… |

Oiler72, Reply here! I got some pics sent to me of the pages. Gimme you're email & I'll send them to you. A nice TMP'er sent them to me. THAT'S why I love this place! Peter PS- I also have a question for you. Did y'all, at the game, use an entire deck w/Jokers, of playing cards? Or do you just use the cards representing "The Men"" along w/the few "extra cards" like Jokers, Turn over & the like? Or do you even remember?! :) |

This is really inspiring. Thank you for sharing it. I think trench raids might be the only way to go for gaming WWI. |

Ceterman, I have a copy of the magazine. You only use the cards representing the "The Men", plus one end of turn card – they use the Ace of Spades – and a Joker for each side. The Joker allows any character to move, even if it has already moved. In addition, the leader may give his card away to any of his men that are within his sight. Unlike some sets of rules found in wargaming magazines, these seem to be quite complete! |

Nick, Thanks so much. I thought that's how it should be! Appreciate it! Peter |

Thank you gents…glad I could show-off a well executed game. Thanks for taking the questions, Peter…I've got a great memory, it's just too damn short, lol. Cheers. |
