I've been working on some paper terrain for my WW2 Dutch army to fight over. This small Dutch village is the result. These are card models by Dutch wargamer Gerrit Postma (also known as ‘Gungnir') available from Wargame Downloads: link Anyone who has travelled to the Netherlands knows the neat and tidy look of the Dutch countryside, which carries through to their traditional architecture. Gungnir's paper models achieve this look very well. I used my graphics programme to replace Gungnir's drawn windows with ones copied and pasted out of suitable front-on photographs of real houses. This made the windows really come to life, with intricate frames, lace curtains and even pot-plants in some of them – typically Dutch! More info and pics in there two posts on my blog: 1) Dutch village: link 2) Dutch farms: link

Thanks for the endorsement! There are many more models available as prints in our webshop papierenbouwplaten.nl and yes, I know I really should add more to Wargames Download, usually too busy to get around to that. Allow me to add that all proceeds of my models go straight to my favorite charity: cosmicfoundastion.nl . I happen to be it's treasurer. Many mopore models are in either planning or design stage, but I do notice health and age are slowing me down a bit. Still, always expect the unexpected! |
