"China's air force has landed bombers on islands and reefs in the South China Sea as part of a training exercise in the disputed region, it said in a statement. "A division of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) recently organised multiple bombers such as the H-6K to conduct take-off and landing training on islands and reefs in the South China Sea in order to improve our ability to ‘reach all territory, conduct strikes at any time and strike in all directions'," it said in the statement issued on Friday. It said the pilot of the H-6K bomber conducted assault training on a designated sea target and then carried out take-offs and landings at an airport in the area, describing the exercise as preparation for "the West Pacific and the battle for the South China Sea"…." You beat me to it, Tango! :) link No legal claim whatsoever but still marking that territory as theirs. Dan PS. Wow, China just keeps building up Woody Island! I haven't seen any Greenpeace ships blocking their dredging and buildup. Hmm. :)

I haven't seen any Greenpeace ships blocking their dredging and buildup What do you think they are using as a breakwater? I suspect that the ships would "go missing" if there was an issue |

Those "camouflaged facilities" are munitions storage bunkers. |

Honestly, concreting over the reefs is one of the biggest issues that all the bordering nations have. They rely on those reefs to grow the fish they eat, so China is starving everyone there. |

Exactly! They are appropriating much more than some empty waters, and with no real claim to them. Dan |

Saber6 Greenpeace "warriors" have had 9 years to show up and stop or slow down the destruction of all those reefs and islands. What a no-show! It's so easy to be an eco-warrior when your adversary has strict rules of conduct they have to abide by and won't blow you out of the water. Dan
