Something a bit different from Gringos40. Due for release shortly I gather, a reproduction of Napoleon's portrait as Emperor, in 1804. Pride of place in any collection, even he does not appear on a wargames table, in this rig!

Yes, I think the sculptor has done a better likeness, of the Napoleon we usually expect to see, than has the artist. OK this was 10 years before the proper battle, so he may have looked younger, I admit. I think the painter flattered

I think the painter flattered

As a Neoclassicist that wasn't particularly faithful to nature, Ingres would have certainly idealized Napoleon in a portrait, without thinking twice about it.

Interesting to see this in miniature form, I may need to get it to go with my Mad Meg and Arnolfini couple from Lead Adventure.

I get the impression that manufacturers can be very cagey about identifying sculptors. I suspect it may be considered commercially sensitive. There is perhaps the worry of talent being poached elsewhere?

Stress this is only an impression, a guess, and nothing more than that.

What a poser.

I'd love to see a gamer actually field this figure as their C in C.
