"Fox has, meanwhile, revealed first trailer for their long awaited sf series THE PASSAGE which will air in midseason. It is an epic, character driven thriller about a secret government medical facility experimenting with a dangerous virus that could either cure all disease or cause the downfall of the human race turning them into vampires. The series focuses on a 10-year-old girl named Amy Bellafonte (Saniyya Sidney), who is chosen to be a test subject for this experiment, and Brad Wolgast (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), the federal agent who becomes her surrogate father as he tries to protect her."

It could cure all disease or turn us all into vampires -- who would then eventually starve to death when there is no more human blood. What could possibly go wrong?

"Hey, let's do involuntary medical experimentation on defenseless children!"

ummm, no, gonna pass on this 'show' (unless they get Blade to come in and kill the vampires…)

These days it seems like it's always vampires or zombies.

Can they try something else, like rapid aging, senility or some evolutionary regression transformation with very few normal humans left? They have been done a little bit, but they could be re-examined and done better.

Dan
PS. Always vampires, zombies or Nazis, oh my! :)

Its based on a very good book of the same name. Unfortunately by comparison the next two books in the serias were not as good (partially just by comparison).

A better end of the world through bad science than most and worth seeing what they do with the first – very good- book.
