Looks interesting as does the blurb on two other Navy WW II movies, Greyhound and Midway. My only hesitation was when they mentioned, for Midway, Woody Harrelson and Mandy Moore. Woody maybe but please dont gum up Midway with some romantic involvement or side story!

Mel may be bat crap crazy, but I will watch it.

The star studded 1976 "Midway" had a romantic side story and was a huge success. While I agree that history stories are good enough to stand on their own, the vast majority of movie goers are neither historians or wargammers.

If only Mel Gibson wasn't such a vicious anti-Semite, I'd be interested in. I can't stomach the Road Warrior movies any more, despite how I love them.

It's even more disheartening that I'll never watch Chinatown again.
