No, no, no! The entire army was not disbanded--they kept 80 men to guard the military stores at West Point. You have the opportunity to do something you thought could only be done for the Princely Army of Liechtenstein--model the entire army on a one-to-one level! Also, for what it's worth, in Lake Champlain lives a monster rather like the better known Nessie, whose descendants might well have spread to other lakes in the region.

Thanks all. It was very kindly pointed out that I'd made an error regarding Maine's statehood at the time selected for the campaign, so apologies to all (especially Mainers) for this mistake. I have admitted my mistake and amended the post accordingly.

And whilst there will be beasties in the woods, there probably won't be any Jackalopes. But Razorshins may very well show up…

According to the folklore of the area, we might expect to see windigo, ding-balls, will-am-alones (no relation to the musician) and the afore-mentioned Razor-shins. And Derry isn't that far away, so I could possibly get away with an appearance of Pennywise the Dancing Clown…
