Your painting technique is very good and clean. These would best any my own stuff thus would enjoy troops from your brush.
I am curious though as to what is driving the lightness of the blue coats, your paint style or the requester of the commission?

To me, I would be concern, as from 3 feet away, to mistake these as Bavarians, with the lightness of the blue coats.

Many thanks for appreciating my work.
I deliberately try to make the color of the fabric lighter. First, because in reality the fabric brightened with time.
Secondly, if you paint 15mm with real color, they look like a brown mass on the table. It's not beautiful. This prevents us from distinguishing the detachments.
You would not have mistake to my Bavarians, they would have been even lighter.
Sorry, my English very bad.

Beautiful brushwork, Alex. I too like your clean painting style, and I tend to paint my Wurttemburgers a lighter shade as well, and for the same reasons.

Thank you for sharing.

very nice unit, but dark blue doesn't fade usually – on campaign it even darkens – due to dirt, woolen coats were not washed but the dirt was just brushed off.
I agree however that one has to brighten the original colour – as to what extend – is personal taste.

Thank you, Markconz!

Thank you for clarifying, von Winterfeldt!
Maybe it depends on the region and the dye. In antiquity in the Mediterranean tissue quickly became almost white. I used to think so. But you are right, the uniforms of our reenactors darken over time.

These are all stunning. Very well done. Can I ask the paint models and colours, especially the various blues for the Bavarians and Wurttembergers? The results are simply brilliant.
