Interesting read

If nothing else, at least the Cossacks made a first impression!

Interesting indeed, russian officer's point of view are quite biased and remember me of the mote and the beam, anyway, there is a detail that is quite schoking with the first key of the picture on page the first page "Russian Cossacks passing by the Arc de Triumph in Paris"!

How had prof.Mikaberidze let such a non-sense been published ?
The Arc de Triumph was planned as soon as 1806 but build and opened to the public in 1836!

Another detail (right hand upper corner) gives the place – boulevard de Bonne Nouvelle- so any parisian knows that it is either Porte Saint Denis or Porte Saint Martin.

An amazingly bit of purple prose extolling the courteous and benevolent Alexander, the Russian soldiers welcomed with open arms by practically everyone in Paris, the fulsome praises in the Journal des Debats… I really had to pick my feet up to avoid the proliferation of manure.

But at least this is my comedic relief for the week.
