The choice of National Characteristics gives the Brits a leg up on everyone else, but I think for game balance a second characteristic should be taken whenever one of the listed are:
Tea Time: First wave and reserves come on one turn later, as they were in the middle of tea when summoned.
Brogue: Scottish officer's heavy accent makes orders difficult to understand: ‘Roll' rather than select order die if using Snap to!
Eccentric Officer: Officer Selection sometimes depended on family and school connections. When activated, roll the order die for this officer, if advance or run result, officer moves in direction of die arrow.

Why not, the rules are based on Hollywood's farcical interpretation of war so why not use their farcical assumptions about the British.

"Americans Are Always The Stars". Whenever a mixed British-American force takes a casualty, the American player can choose to eliminate a British figure instead of an American one.

Charmed Life – an officer brings his sword / hunting horn / umbrella into battle. The enemy are clearly bedazzled by such eccentricity, giving the officer a hefty saving throw (and even when failed the officer only receives a wound).

Perhaps something similar for the use of bagpipes, and a broadsword giving a melee bonus

+1 ubercommando!

+1 Dave Manley.

Maybe add an extra +1 morale bonus as his men follow him, if only out of idle curiousity?

"Anything mechanical, give it a good bash" rule:
Any NCO or Officer can automatically repair or start any bogged or disabled vehicle if he is armed with a shillelagh.

ubercommando for the win.

He has to have a bulldog with him too!

"Fish and Chips" for a morale booster

"It's Merely a Flesh Wound" negates a failed saving throw

"Rugby Player" in close combat he gets a bonus attack for every pint of Guinness he downed before the fight. Head wounds have no effect.

"You're an absolute shower!" (pronounced Shah)
Any unit within 6 inches of an officer armed with a swagger stick (and hopefully sporting a monocle as well) spend one move staring at their boots and shuffling about on the spot.
