Am I reading the rules right- the only command control is the roll to see how much of your army may be commanded that turn? The rules talk about generals, but I don't see where they come in to the game. |

They have command radius and units with in that radius gets moral bonuses. They can also attach to units giving them advantages in close combat |

So they just give morale, an don't affect orders? |

If units are out of command radius. You need to use more order dice to make said unit do what it's told. |

Hold on, might have different editions, I think I have first edition- published 2008. No order dice. |

Sorry got mixed up. Besides the moral and hand to hand advantage. Units outside the radius of their commander can't receive orders. ( So only shot or react to chargers and meles) unless they are independent style units. This is in BLB2 and 3. |

I don't think that's in this set, in fact CR only seems to be mentioned in the morale table. |

I was talking about BLB3, "The War of Three Kings." I can't remember how the original rules worked, it they are vast changed since decade ago. |

Literally the command system. I can't find the sub generals mentioned anywhere outside a couple of tables. Is it literally just work out % of army yo can activate and place that many order chits, regardless of distance? |

The order allowance is purely a function of your Supreme Commander quality. Sub generals/brigadiers do not influence this therefore, the answer is yes – determine your %age movement and place as many orders as you wish up to your limit. Where brigadiers/sub general come into play is on their command radius(morale modifier), attachment to unit (morale modifier), risk to general/brigadier(morale modifier) or in a larger game – where orders for a 'wing' or sub command need to be changed. If a written order does not reach the sub general by courier or personal visit by the Supreme Commander his command must continue with the original orders given at the beginning of the battle |
