The title pretty much says it all. 1.)I've seen Warlord's offerings – they seems a little pricey for what one gets? And what one has to do. Happy to hear any contrary opinions, of course! 2.)There is the scratch-built route. The trouble is I really dislike assembling and painting buildings. Is there anything I'm missing out there? I'm surprised at not being able to find much. Thank you! |

Plastic Zulus are your best option If you think Warlord is pricey check out Foundry Zulus |

I assume you're talking about the buildings? I thought Old Glory did one, but one of the best is done in resin by Redoubt Enterprises. Maybe expensive to ship, but take a look at the ‘Wargaming with Silver Whistle' blog to see it in use. Mine is also from Redoubt but I'm planning to use Warlord mealie bag and wagon barricades when we finally play the much planned 140th anniversary game! |

We offer in 25/28mm, 15mm, and 10mm a complete set of self-assembly card stock models of all structures (including the "biscuit box wall", "mealie bag redoubt," etc) in full color, all of which can be set on a full color base schematic map showing every feature of the site and terrain. All components are provided as PDF's for self-printing, though the map will likely need to be printed for you at your local shop as the 25mm version measures 30" x 20". fauxtoys.com/tvag/pictures/Game Map Schematic.jpg (If this very small JPEG doesn't appear, anyone is welcome to contact TVAG@att.net and I'll send it.) The ground scale has been represented for a figure-to-man ratio of 1:10, which will certainly work with TSATF. The whole set is just $10.00 USD and may be gotten by E-mailing me and using PayPal (I'll invoice you). Even if you just bought the map to get the ground and layout right, you'd have a first class resource for any project you might have in mind. Best of Luck! TVAG |

Thank you all. Somewhat ironically, I've come full circle and am beginning to lean towards the Warlord kits. A number of people have said they are quite easy to assemble. This is good. All the responses are much appreciated! |

I have the Warlord buildings and think they are great. They went together pretty easy and paint up really nice. They do not have to be painted but I wanted to add a few touches inside and out. Their assortment of barricades also makes for a good bases for your perimeter walls. I made a few of my own to mix in for some added lengths. |

I just ran a game at Recon in Orlando. I have the Warlord set plus additional pieces. Half of my Zulus are Old Glory metal, half are Warlord plastic. I have metal and plastic in the British force. The Warlord Rorke's Drift buildings are great and look good when they are done. The Zulus won. |
