" It is the story of a group of brave Poles who fought in the skies over England in WW2, not just to keep Great Britain free from the Nazis, but also to keep alive the very idea of their own country, which had existed in its modern form for barely twenty years before it was crushed under Germans. Equipped with the almost-obsolete Hurricane and (with some initial reluctance) given RAF blue uniforms, while they fought, Poland lived." YouTube link Amicalement Armand |

I wish some of the CGI companies would take their tech wiz kids to an airshow to show them how aircraft actually fly. However, I will still see it. |

Hats of for the magnificent Poles! I'd take a 109 against a Hurricane any day. AFAIK Spit and 109 were more or less on the same level.
But wasn't Spit meant to be mostly taking care of the fighter escort while the less nimble Hurricanes obliterated the bombers? A Finnish WWII ace (Jorma "Joppe" Karhunen) who later wrote a LOT of books on the air war in Finland wrote that when he first encountered a lend-lease Hurricane he thought the Hurri's wings had caught fire when it started shooting! Four machine guns abreast per wing does give out a good shelling…

Poor Iwan Rheon. He's a good actor, but I just can't see him in anything without picturing him eating a sausage. He was too good in that previous role. He's a bit like Hugo Weaving, whom I picture in every role saying, "Mr. Anderson…" despite being a fantastic actor. |
